The 91st anniversary of the Strathcona Invitational golf tournament presented by Teleco and Tbaytel will be held July 30th through August 2nd.
Since 1930, the Strathcona Invitational has been the premier golf tournament in Thunder Bay and the surrounding district and has crowned the best amateur golfers in Thunder Bay as champions including the likes of Barry Caland, Bob Devine, Ken Britton, Trevor Jones, John Valley and Don Stokaluk.
This year, 6 time champion and 2 time defending champion Robert Cumming will compete as he aims to make it 3 in-a-row!

The Invitational has 4 Divisions , Regular, Senior 50 & over, Super Senior 60 & over and Masters 70 & over. Also, any Junior with a 5 point 5 handicap or less may enter
Each player is guaranteed one 18 hole Medal Qualifying Round, and two 18 Hole Matches with more than 18 THOUSAND DOLLARS in prizes to be won!

Wake the Giant Music Festival is back! The world-class event that celebrates inclusivity and Indigenous culture will make a loud return to the stage in Thunder Bay, Ontario on Saturday, September 18th.
The-lineup is stacked with artists from all genres, promising a parade of hits, including headliners Jessie Reyez, Third Eye Blind and Loud Luxury, joined by William Prince, iskwe, DJ Shub, Northern Cree, Nick Sherman, and Jingle Dress Dancers.
The festival will also include celebrity appearances, a live art installation, cultural performances, and an Indigenous Craft Market.
Wake The Giant is a cultural awareness project in Thunder Bay aimed at building understanding and showing Indigenous people that they are valued members of the Thunder Bay community. The music festival is a celebration of all cultures with a specific focus on Indigenous people and promoting Indigenous musicians.
Wake the Giant Music Festival may be subject to attendance limitations based on Covid-19 restrictions on the day of the concert. All ticket holders agree to follow all Covid-19 health guidelines at the Festival. In the event that Covid-19 restrictions force us to cancel, all ticket holders will have the option of a full refund or keeping their tickets for the following year.

George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation is excited to announce the Best Western Plus Dryden Hotel & Conference Centre’s Hometown Heroes Charity Golf Classic hosted by NHL star Carter Hutton, taking place August 5th, 2021 at Fort William Golf and Country Club, in support of George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation.
Golfers will be able to enjoy 18 holes of socially-distanced golf in this scramble format tournament, along with various contests and activities throughout the day. Once the scores are added up, golfers will head back to the clubhouse to pick up their to-go dinners and join us from the comfort of their homes for a virtual dinner, an awards ceremony, and a celebration of our Hometown Heroes!
